Bird fell out of it's nest. Do I save it from the cats or is it survival of the fittest ??

This bird is like a Magpie but with blue neck and it's chick has been on the ground for a while and the mother is franticaly trying to keep the local cats at bay. Do you think I should try to get it somewhere out of their reach or should I let nature take it's course ???
