16, are my gums really receding?

my 6 front bottom teeth I think gumlines are receding. I'm not sure though. The gum around the tooth is spongy and whitish. I don't understand bc I'm only 16 and I take really good care of my teeth. I got to the dentist twice a year and a had braces and I brush and floss twice a day. So, what is this????
